Greetings one and all!
As this is the inaugural post, I shall devote it to updating everyone on the basic essentials of our settling in.
The 7 of us were staying at a retreat house in Bangalore during the first week of our arrival. Peng Kee and Prof. Kau were with us during the week-long entrepreneurial workshops. The main idea of the workshops was to familiarize 5 social science majors, 1 real estate major and 1 chemical engineering major on the main concepts of entrepreneurship and the terminology of business writing. Some of the companies we visited were Soukya (integrated wellness centre), Milaap (microloan financing facilitator) and Red Force (banking IT security). Almost all of the companies were entrepreneurial in nature and we got to interact with the founders and management teams – picking their brains on entrepreneurship, social welfare and the ‘bottom of the pyramid’ concept.
